In an action packed day on a circuit which produced some
fantastic racing, the new three race format per class
resulted in five different winners from the six
championship races today. The only double race winner was
USA rider, Zach Osborne, who took back to back victories
in the final two MX2 motos on a quickly drying circuit
after finishing 4th in the opener. Jake Nicholls matched
Osborne’s speed for most of the day, but leaves Devon
nine points in arrears in the championship. The final
podium position was in doubt until right at the end of
the third 20 minute race as Martin Barr, Graeme Irwin,
Kristian Whatley and first race pace setter, Elliot
Banks-Browne all finished within a few points of each
other.

The MX1 class was red hot! Race wins from Russian Evgeny
Bobreshev, reigning MX1 Champion, Brad Anderson and Gareth
Swanepoel, kept the large crowd on their toes right to the
end. However, dispite Anderson finishing in 7th position in
the opening leg, he fought back to take the top step on the
podium by a single point. First race winner Bobreshev had to
settle for third after fighting back from 27th on the first
lap of the final encounter. Polesitter and current MX2
champion, Stephen Sword improved as the day went on from a
lowly 9th in race one to a strong third in the final race of
the day.

The Q2 Superpole also proved a success, and the large crowd
voted the “new look championship” a success.

The Ladies Championship supported this event and, as
expected, Natalie Kane dominated Qualifying and both motos.

The organising Little Silver Moto Cross Club put on an
excellent first round on a well prepared track and many
commented this was one of the few tracks in the country
which could cope with the rainfall in the past 72 hours.

The next round of the championship takes place at Mallory
Park in Leicestershire on the 21st March.
