Ageism and You.
As a subject ageism is being handled a bit like the colour bar was in the 1960′s - when the denial was ” I have no problem with coloured people.”
When put to the test it was found to be failing on many issues – like housing, jobs and relationships.
We are delighted to note that over 40 years later a tremendous number of the problems have been overcome – mainly by the lack of prejudice gained by the following generations and the amazing appetite for learning and implementation undertaken by a vast number of the non-white people throughout the world.
Ageism is however becoming more practised under many different guises – many encouraged by the media and political dinosaurs . The results are not encouraging for the future. It is worth noting that too much play is being made about the future generations having to pay taxes to support the pensions of ‘the retired’. Whilst that has always been a fact of life since the welfare state was born – it should be remembered that today’s pensioners were yesterday’s taxpayers (indeed many still are) and a very large number do voluntary work in a wide range of valuable services.
Spreading fear about the future is the latest control mechanism employed by the state in order to be able to dictate their demands born out of the lack of leadership and vision displayed by too many of the key players.
As citizens we all deserve better and the strategy of ‘divide and conquer’ is really a poor substitute for a cohesive plan of integration.
Sadly the BBC and publications – like The Daily Telegraph are at the forefront of fanning the flames. They must stop and look towards not only a Greener future but a more Harmonious one – that is – if they want one.

Ever since governments learned that they can use terror as a weapon in domestic strife, it has become almost the equivalent of antibiotics.
Early racial prejudice was nothing more than a natural reaction of one tribe against another. There has always been, and always will be, mistrust between disparate tribes. How many times has it been said “Oh, you have to have been born here for the locals to treat you as a local.” Look at all the competitions that are run between towns and villages to see which is the friendliest, prettiest or has the best shops.
One small town has already been severely punished for trying to win the ‘prettiest village’ title by some moron with a poison spray who has virtually wiped out all the flowers.
There never was real racial tension until the limp wristed, looney left decided to instigate a Race Relations Act. This act and all the paraphinalia that went with it fanned flames from sparks that were struck by well meaning but stupid imbeciles who set themselves up as the official offence takers on behalf of all ‘other’ coloured races. People who could look at a very popular toy, the golliwog, and imbue it with seven measures of evil.
Well, now it is the turn of the aged. We are becoming the semi-pariahs on the social scene (the Race Relations Act will never allow racial tensions to ease) because those same limp wristed, looney left have decided that we need an Age Relations Act. We will have armies of well meaning but stupid imbeciles who set themselves up as the official offence takers on behalf of all the ‘agedly challenged’. People who can look at a very popular granny and imbue her with all the ills of society.
Ever since Blair took this country into the poodle kennel of USA, we have lost our way. The USA is probably the most dangerous terrorist nation on the planet – and she spreads more terror within her own shores than she does in the rest of the world. Watch any USA news programme (don’t expect any news, though) and keep a count on the number of times you hear the words terror, terrorist, al Quaida or threat – I’m sure you will be staggered if you do. The first thing Americans see when they fly between cities is the welcoming notices at the airport which reassure you about the level of terror threat ruling for the day. America is probably the country least likely to be attacked because it is remote and expensive to get to. Mind you, they have enough loonies of their own to shoot up malls, schools and waiting rooms – but they aren’t ‘terrorists’.
Once the problem of the aged is past we will be faced with the problem of the lack of educated people to carry out the basic tasks that are necessary to keep the country running and then we will be back in the glorious age of chivalry. Knights and Barons will rule the land while the serfs do all the work simply to have a place to live.
History will truly repeat itself – provided USA doesn’t look at its stock-piles of WMD’s and take that great military strategy “use ‘em or lose ‘em” to heart.
